What this site collects.

The pages

Almost nothing. There are no cookies, no analytics and no third-party fonts. The one script on the site draws the sign-up form and comes from EmailOctopus; it sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub records visitor IP addresses in its server logs for security purposes under GitHub's privacy statement.

The sign-up form

If you give us your email address, it goes to EmailOctopus (EmailOctopus Ltd, UK), which stores it and sends the emails for us under a data processing agreement. You get a confirmation email first and nothing until you click it. We then send what the form says: the free first chapter of Scribe 2106, a short run of four emails about that book over two weeks, and after that one email when a new book comes out. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address from the list. We keep it until you do. We never sell it or share it with anyone else, and we do not add it to any other list.

Replies

If you reply to an email we keep what you wrote for as long as it takes to answer, and no longer, unless you ask us to keep talking. Mail is handled by Google Workspace.

Your rights

Ask us to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you and we will. The data controller is L.C.M.G Productions Limited (company number 17412391, England and Wales), which publishes the books. Contact: hello@lcmgproductions.com. If you are unhappy with how we handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
